Nigerian Pirates

Jurisdiction

As a result of of the 1982 United Nations Conventions on the Law of the Sea allows any state to have jurisdiction to arrest and prosecute agaist any Maritime piracy acts in international waters.

UN Resolution

The un adoped the united kingdoms laws regarding piracy and decolpoed the law into easier prosecution based on the fact that any state has the right to arrest and prosecute against Maritime piracy.

Privacy

Privacy is affected on the topic of piracy because a vessle in the water has the right to privacy and not be borded and have their vessle seazed and put into harm regardless of being in international waters or not.

International Court of Justice

Justice

To seek justice in regards to piracy in international waters is hard to achieve. The only real way to get the accused into custody would be for the vessle to send a SOS to the cost gard and hope that they are close enough to help. Once the vessle is still in the water and the pirates have acheived thier goal it is very difficult to seek justice.

The International Court of Justice was established in 1945 by the UN as a court to prosecute against international chrimes such as war chrimes or crimes in which take place in international teritories.
